The Fairfield Fire Fighters Association is proud to announce the formation of our new charitable foundation. The Fairfield Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation is a registered Non-Profit with the state of Connecticut with 501c3 status pending. The FFFCF was formed to help us expand our ability to raise funds for our many worthy charities. From our Muscular Dystrophy Association “Fill the Boot and Santa Express ride”, St. Baldrick’s foundation head shaving, American Cancer Society Relay for Life bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital, to the Gift Card for the Troops Program we hope that our new foundation will help us to raise more funds than ever for these great causes.
“People know what we do while on duty but many don’t know how involved we are while we are off duty., Said Bob Smith President of Local 1426 and one of the principal officers of the FFFCF. “Our members are in the community every day trying to make a difference in people’s lives. They coach teams, lead the Girl and Boy Scout troops, and get involved in projects that make Fairfield a better place to live.”
Bill Tuttle the Local 1426 Secretary added,” We hope that our new Foundation will help our Union become even bigger players in the community as it continues to grow over the years to come. People come and go in Fairfield but the Fire Fighters are here for the long haul and we want to continue to make a difference both on and off duty.”
The FFFCF hopes to establish itself as one of the community leaders in the coming months and we hope to be able to reach out to Local merchants for all of our fundraising needs. “We are looking forward to developing relationships with Town businesses for our purchases. We want to help the community by promoting the community and what better way to do that than to spend our money in Town when we can.” Stated Smith
The FFFCF will be co-hosting a wine and beer tasting event on February 21st 2013 at the Trumbull Marriott to benefit the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital.
