The members of Local 1426 celebrated their 50th Anniversary in style on Saturday night April 28th 2012 in Fairfield at the Patterson Club. Around 125 current and retired members and some close friends put their best dressed foot forward to help celebrate the forming of Local 1426 in April of 1962.
The evening kicked off with a cocktail hour and carried its way into the main dining hall at the newly built Patterson club for a gourmet dinner. A video of photos of the Local's fifty years played on the big screen throughout the night displaying the tradition, honor and unity of years gone by.
The dessert table was even more amazing with a specialty cake made by Monique Jara, a local Fairfield woman, who made and donated the cake for the Firefighters and their guests. The cake was modeled after a Fairfield Fire Engine and the detail was truly amazing. The 150 pound cake, with working lights, took up an entire four foot rounds table. It was a sight to see.
"It has been a terrific night," stated Local 1426 Bob Smith, " everything turned out fantastic. I can't thank the folks here at the Patterson Club enough for the great job they did for us tonight. It has been amazing. It was a first class event."
Secretary Bill Tuttle said, " It was great to get everyone together here tonight and celebrate fifty years of our history. What a great time!!"
